Inspiring Futures

This programme has now concluded. We were incredibly grateful for the support of the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund and you can see below how this funding enabled much valuable work to take place.

This project works with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who may need extra support through their teenage years. It has been made possible through funding from the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund.

The aim of the project is to help young people to transition through a fundamental period in their lives.

We aim to increase pathways to employment, decrease isolation and involvement in crime, increase positive relationships and to help young people understand their emotions and how to deal with them.

Have a look at what the young people got up to during 2020 on the programme: Inspiring Futures 2020 – YouTube

The project focuses on three main aspects:

Regular 1-2-1 sessions, where the young person guides the topic of discussion and what things they feel they need support with.

Regular workshops to increase skills valuable in all aspects of life, such as: working environments, living independently, travelling etc.

Regular activities as a member of our youth club where they will learn a range of Outdoor Activities as well as go on trips and compete in competitions.

How to Join

If you believe your child could benefit from being a part of this programme please email robyn@shadwell-basin.org.uk. I will arrange a phone call and give lots more information about the project and answer any questions you may have.

There is an Inspiring Futures Consent Form, a parents questionnaire, as well as two questionnaires the young people will need to fill out before beginning the project.  You can click on the links below to download these.

Research Questionnaire

Once the project has begun, the young person will be asked to fill in a progressive questionnaire once a month to evaluate improvements, as well as to guide our 1-2-1 session preparation.
