Adventurous Activities for 9 to 18 year olds

The waiting list to join our youth programme is currently open to residents of Tower Hamlets, please email us to register.

Become a member of our Youth Club, make new friends and enjoy exciting, challenging outdoor activities.

Our sessions help you build confidence, motivation and respect for yourself and others.

You must be 9 to 18 years to take part in activities and be able to swim.

Session Times

Wednesday  Evenings: 5.30pm to 8.00pm
Thursday Evenings: 5.30 to 8.00pm
Sundays/Holiday Projects: 10.30am to 1pm & 2pm to 4.00pm.

All of our sessions must be booked in advance.  Currently there is a waiting list to join the youth activities programme, if you live in Tower Hamlets you can register by emailing info@shadwell-basin.org.uk.

Specific sessions have been planned to train members for residentials, you will find specific training dates and info on the Trips page.

Prices

At only £4.50 per session or £7.50 for a full day, we offer great value for money.
During holiday projects you can pay £30 weekly per person and £15 for additional siblings.

How can I join

The waiting list is open to residents of Tower Hamlets.  You must email us to register and join the waiting list.  When you are offered a place you will be sent the link to complete the Parent / Guardian Consent Form link.

To take part in activities, you have to be able to swim, bring a full change of clothes and footwear that do not expose your feet!  We recommend that you bring a healthy snack/drink for sessions and a large packed lunch for daily sessions.

Also, please read the code of conduct before you come – we have set this out for your enjoyment and safety.

Safety is our highest priority and staff of the youth club care about our members. We provide safe enjoyable learning, and teach individuals to take considered risks that challenge and stretch their ability. This way our participants grow in confidence, build self esteem and gain respect for themselves and others.

Key Safety Features of our centre

  • All activities are directed by staff with nationally recognised qualifications.
  • All staff members are DBS checked.
  • All staff members are first aid trained.
  • The Centre is recognised by the RYA and BCU as an approved centre, holds a licence from the AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority) and holds a Learning Outside the Classroom badge.
  • All equipment is checked for safe purpose on a regular basis.
  • The water quality is checked regularly and is safe to use for activities.
  • The safety and well being of your child is of paramount importance to us.
  • We are proud of our safety record.
